Baby Brain and Company

So I believe baby brain is real...

I am so thankful to have special company staying with us this weekend - Marcus & Samuel, Lloyd & Hazel... but I feel a tad sorry for them. I can give you multiple examples of my baby brain moments, but will limit it to two.  Somehow I thought I could grocery shop without a detailed list... I had my "menu" for the weekend, but not a detailed list. So, on the "menu" for Friday's evening snack was mini pizzas on english muffins (classy, I know). But, I only bought the cheese and had the pepperoni on hand already. No sauce and no english muffins. Dumb! Then for breakfast today, I was thinking I'd have scrambled eggs with bagels, toast and fruit salad. Except, it never crossed my mind that I used up all my eggs Friday morning with Marcus & Sam and never bought any more! Dumb! Dumb!

Thankfully they are very forgiving.

It's been quite a week. I finished work at noon on Wednesday! It feels a little unreal... I didn't quit. I didn't get fired. I didn't find a new job. I am officially on maternity leave! Weird. It was such a busy two weeks leading up to Wednesday. My replacement started and I was dreading the two weeks thinking they'd be very painful with two of us sitting at one desk. I was pleasantly surprised - the days flew by.  Yes, they were long days, but we used up every minute of those two weeks for training. Didn't realize I had so much to cover! On Wednesday, my boss and the three other guys in the head office took me out for lunch. I was hoping a few other co-workers would be invited, including E - my replacement, but nope. Just me and the 4 guys. It was actually a nice lunch and not awkward. I feel blessed to have worked at MDE for almost two years - it was a good job and a great learning experience. I'm sure I will miss some aspects of it. Others - not so much! :)

Marcus and Sam arrived Thursday afternoon after a long long trip for them. They're pretty easy company. Friday the three of us drove downtown and went up the CN Tower. We couldn't take much sight-seeing time because Marcus was on deck this weekend at the Missionary conference, but it was a nice break for a couple hours. Thankfully the sun was shining and we had a decent view from the tower.

Lloyd & Hazel arrived Friday evening so we had a nice visit before going to bed. I can't believe they're really here! It will likely never happen again, so I'm going to enjoy it. :)

Can't believe I'm going to be 37 weeks tomorrow... and an update for anyone who is interested (and thank you for those of you who have commented and have prayed for me): As of now I will not be needing a planned c-section. Both my placenta previa and vasa previa conditions have moved out of the way and we can proceed with a "normal" labour and delivery...  so back to the guessing came of when this little one will arrive! As much as a c-section is great for planning purposes, I am very thankful for how this is turning out... now to figure out when my mom should arrive!

I had the most amazing baby shower two weeks ago... this will have to be it's own post as you need to see the pictures. If anyone has a quicker way to post pictures to a blog, I'd love to hear your options! Anyway, it was a Dr. Seuss theme, and my friends Sandra and Beth spared no creativity... it was over the top! We are so thankful for the love and generosity poured on us and this little one. I guess I'll give you one sneak preview:
